ArtzSpark Vision & Philosophy

• ArtzSpark provides visual art tuition for children from pre-school through to year 10, encompassing the use of a large range of drawing and painting media and multi media techniques including collage, use of textiles, paper-mache, etc. Children gain confidence by experimenting with various techniques, learning art terminology and begin to recognise and acknowledge their own strengths and weaknesses.
• Through movement experiences, role playing and communication games and activities children learn to express themselves in a variety of positive ways, developing problem solving skills and self responsibility.
• ArtzSpark teachers provide a high level of individual attention by keeping classes at or below 15 students. Through personal recognition children feel valued and are more likely to contribute in a constructive way. Our programme ensures that childrens strengths are recognised and their full potential nurtured and encouraged.
• By including multicultural creative art experiences in the ArtzSpark programme children learn to appreciate diversity, develop empathy skills and develop a more holistic view of the world.
• By providing a gentle and nurturing environment our teachers provide encouragement and children feel free to explore their artistic talents without fear of critical judgement.
• ArtzSpark provides an avenue of communication and social interaction to enable children to express emotions in a positive way and to listen respectfully to the opinion of others during discussion times.
• By exploring other artists and their works the children develop a sense of art appreciation, discovering new techniques and new ways of seeing the world. Possibility thinking and outside the box approaches are encouraged at all times.
• ArtzSpark provides an avenue for children to learn compassion and contribution through the ArtzSpark KidsCare Programme where students sponsor children around the world at a ratio of 1 sponsor child to 20 ArtzSpark students via fundraisers and sale of their Original Artcards.
• At ArtzSpark there is a strong emphasis on the process and journey of the creative experience rather than outcome. Our teachers recognise that children work at different paces and with a variety of learning styles and will always work with the students to help them understand these differences in themselves and others.
