ArtzSpark - Frequently asked questions
Q: What is ArtzSpark for kids?

A: We are a privately owned company that brings fun, creativity and valuable life skills to kids in the Shoalhaven using the visual and creative arts as our primary tools. We aim to provide children with the resources to become Self-confident, Positive, Artistic Resourceful, Resilient and Kind

Q: What is ArtzSpark for Kids best known for?

A: We are best known for our recognition of each child as an individual with a unique gift to share. Our enthusiastic, nurturing and experienced teachers are committed to helping every child recognise their own strengths through fun, inspirational and challenging creative art experiences

Q: At what age can a child attend an ArtzSpark CLASS?

A: ArtzSpark has designed various programmes for children from preschool to Year 10. Private tuition is available to small groups of Year11&12 students by arrangement.

Q: What type of Art does ArtzSpark provide?

A: We cover a broad range of artistic skills, including drawing, painting, mixed media, collage, sculpture and printing. Our programme is further enhanced by the inclusion of multicultural crafts, expressive movement and other improvisational activities based around drama and music.

Q: Where does ArtzSpark for kids conduct their classes?

A: Currently ArtzSpark holds classes in Nowra, Huskisson and Ulladulla. Future plans for expansion include the Illawarra and the introduction of ArtzSpark Life Skills Through Art programmes in primary schools across the State.

Q. How many children are in each class?

A. Primary classes have a maximum number of 15. Preschool classes are kept below 12. Keeping classes small allows our teachers to provide a high level of individual attention, allowing each child to feel that they are a valued member of the group.

Q. Why do some children seem to produce more art in one session than others?

A. At ArtzSpark we recognise that all kids work in different ways, at different speeds and different levels. Some children are naturally freer with their creative expression and often-complete more than one piece per session, while other children are more detail oriented and work at a slower pace. We encourage children to finish all pieces over time and our focus is predominantly on the process of the creative journey rather than the outcome.

Q. I've heard that ArtzSpark classes are often full. How can I enrol my child in a class?

A. Although our classes are often full, the best way to ensure a place for your child is to place them on our waiting list with your preferred time and location. When a place becomes available we will let you know immediately.

Q. What is the ArtzSpark Kids Care programme?

A. At ArtzSpark we believe that Empathy is one of the most important life skills. Our company goal to sponsor one child in need for every 20 students enrolled and this is passionately supported by our students and their parents. ArtzSpark students are proactive in our fundraising activities, selling their original Artcards at markets and fairs to support our sponsored children and meeting to suggest other causes needing support when we have extra funds in our Kids Care account. The children currently sponsor children through Worldvision and CCF in Mexico, Peru, Sumatra and Guatemala. They also send Christmas presents to La Escuela de Esperanza in Tijuana, Mexico and this year have raised extra funds for the Sydney Peace Foundation.
